A collection of period IV ceramic sherds, most of which is Rio Grande glazeware with some intrusions of corrugated etc. Five levels of material. Level 1 (bottom layer): 8 pieces. Level 2: 17 pieces. Surface finds at Pottery Mound, New Mexico, which is located on the banks of Rio Puerco (about 40 miles southwest of Albuquerque). Excavated by the University of New Mexico. Donated to the Stanford University collections by HB Menagh, head of the Department of Speech and Drama at Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana, during the Bert Gerow period. |
